Mother’s Day Out

MDO classes meet from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday. We will allow parents to choose from one to five days based on availability.

Parents of children in the MDO classes are responsible for supplying all personal items for their child, such as diapers, wipes, prepared bottles, and a change of clothes, etc. Please be sure to mark everything with your child’s name. Morning snacks are provided by First Friends; however, parents must send lunch for their child.

Crib Nursery

The Crib Nursery meets the needs for physical comfort and emotional security for the infant from age 2 months to approximately 1 year of age. Feeding, diapering and sleeping can pose much of the infant’s day. An environment of bright colors inappropriate toys provides optimum stimulation for the infant’s growth.

Each child follows his/her own schedule of eating, resting and playing. This schedule frequently changes as growth occurs and the need for sleep is less. Feeding and diapering are opportunities for one on one interactions and bonding with the caregiver. Babies are held for bottle feedings.

Parents are responsible for bringing prepared bottles, baby food, as well as diapers, baby wipes, and any other diapering needs the infant may have. According to the State Health Department, we are not allowed to prepare powder or concentrated formula. All bottles must be prepared by the parent and labeled with the child’s name or initials. We would also like to have at least two changes of clothes available if needed.

Toddler 1s Room

The toddler room is a lively place, with room for the active child approximately 12 months to 2 years of age to learn and grow. The caregivers provide an accepting and affirming environment, which meets the child’s emotional requirements. Activities center around the high energy level of this age group. The toddlers enjoy outside play on a daily basis, weather permitting. Toddlers are encouraged but not made to participate in the daily rest time.

Toddler 2s Room

First Friends offers two different 2 year old classes. One class for younger twos and one for older twos. The daily program supports the child’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth with both child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities. Age appropriate materials and equipment provide the opportunity for quiet and active play.

As the child shows interest in potty training, we will begin to work with your child. Parents and caregivers work together to support the child in this important stage of growth. Two year olds enjoy outside play on a daily basis, weather permitting. Two year olds are encouraged, but not made to participate in the daily rest time.
